Reopening of schools

Reopening of schools

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

I hope you are all well and safe.

I know you are aware of the announcement to phase the reopening of schools from June 1st. I sent you a message a few days ago to this effect and to reassure you that we are following the government announcements carefully. We are  planning for the possibility of the government deciding on May 28th that it is safe for schools to reopen to a limited number of students. Because of the timeline involved, I want to inform you that the earliest any Year 10 students (other than the vulnerable group that we already host) would be invited back to school will be Monday 8th June. This will allow us time to ascertain the numbers of students to expect by surveying parents and also ensuring that we have sufficient staff to safely teach the small groups of students. As you can imagine the planning is complex and designed to ensure that staff and students are safe.

I will be in touch again on Monday 1st June with further updates.

In the meantime, stay safe and well,

Best wishes
Dr Kathy Janzan
Head of School
