I’m a tutor get me outta here! By Saffy Hills, Year 7

On Friday the 15th of December, Magna Carta had an ‘I’m a tutor get me out of here’ to raise money for White Lodge. Tickets cost £1 each. It was based on the official ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’, which had just finished for the year, and it revolved around some of our tutors eating disgusting foods such as mealworms and a whole raw onion. My tutor assistant, Mr Deacon, was taking part.

There was a massive crowd of people outside the theatre, waving their tickets about and pushing their way in. Once the teachers had them under control, in a straight line, we were all allowed in. I sat with my friends and we were all very excited for the show to begin.

Introducing the show, were two boys acting like Ant and Dec. There were many teachers in the line-up including Mrs Fothergill, Ms Fernandez, Mr Highland, and 2-year in a row king of the jungle, Mr Gwynne!!!

Nearly all the teachers, did or wore something special to add to their chance of winning, for example Mr Highland did some Irish Dancing for us, Mrs Fothergill wore a Christmas jumper and Mr Gwynne acted like a Rockstar, wearing a leather jacket, playing the air guitar, and throwing Quality Streets to us! Even at the back, my friend caught one! But had he done enough to keep his title?

I think all the teachers deserve something special as they all did amazingly, eating things such as bubble and squeak milkshakes and more, but there had to be a winner. The winner was judged by who got the loudest cheer at the end. And you cheer the loudest for who you think had the best performance and ate the most disgusting thing. There were lots of very loud cheers but at the end, the winner was clear. Mr Gwynne was King of the jungle 3 years in a row and Ms Fernandez was Queen of the Jungle.

I had a lot of fun watching it and I’m really glad it all went to a good cause. It’s something different and unique that I don’t think many other schools do and it’s really enjoyable and such a brilliant idea.
